MALIBU - Yesterday. Today. Forever!

The MALIBU Michael Jackson & Family Fan Club was founded in 1987 by Isoh Demir and several other fans. At the beginning the fan club consisted of 11 members. The first issue of the Malibu Fanzine comprised 29 pages.

MALIBU at a glance...

When Carola Boehm became fan club president in 1990, not only the magazine's layout was improved, but also the fan club's degree of popularity changed. Due to her intensive efforts she was able to make contact with Michael's team. Thank-you letters and autographs were not a rarity. Furthermore, MALIBU was "officially recognized" by MJJ Productions. Because of the close contact to Michael's team the number of members rapidly increased to 500.

After ten years of successful leadership Carola Boehm had to resign as fan club president due to personal reasons and entrusted the leadership to Sonja Schindler's care. Under this new administration the magazine's layout was totally modified - it contained a coloured cover now. In addition to that, the MALIBU fan club was available online for the first time – a new homepage has been created, the message board has been founded. In fall 2003, Bina Hofberger was presented as new vice-president.

Since its foundation the fan club's motto is "from fans – for fans". Particularly because of this motto the MALIBU fan club has been awarded the "Seal Of Recognition" by Michael's official website MJJSource in spring 2005. This seal officially expresses Michael's appreciation of the fan club's work.

In its 20th year of existence the MALIBU Michael Jackson & Family Fan Club can look back on:

  • Charity projects to support Michael Jackson's "Heal The World Foundation" and other organizations worldwide.
  • Support-events to show the world that Michael Jackson receives never-ending love and support from his fans – we have organized many demonstrations in 1993 and 2004.
  • A fan club magazine (b/w, approx. 70 pages, German language) with a coloured cover, released three times a year. The anniversary issue was released in spring 2007.
  • An online message board, founded in 2002, that established itself as one of the biggest message-boards in German-speaking countries
